Interest and purpose of the training

This training aims to develop and deepen knowledge and understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment as a first step towards changing attitudes and integrating a gender perspective into the daily work of UN staff at headquarters, regional and country levels. The programme introduces the basic concepts, the international framework and the methods applicable in activities aimed at achieving gender equality and empowering women. It also offers participants the opportunity to make links between gender and thematic areas such as work, education, political participation, peace and security, sexual and reproductive health, sexual diversity and human rights, and violence against women.
